After experiencing the joy of running the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon with Bra’s for Girls, Perri caught the marathon bug and can’t wait to toe the line again this year. Perri has been an athlete her entire life, playing multiple sports in high school, volleyball in college and most recently representing Team USA as an outside hitter at the World Maccabiah Games in Israel and Pan American Games in Argentina. Over the past couple of years, Perri has found her way into running, a new way to challenge herself both physically and mentally. She is so grateful for all the opportunities she has had in sports which is why she is so excited to continue to support the organization’s mission and join the Bras for Girls 2024 TCS NYC Marathon team as a runner and our Northeast Regional Advisor. When Perri is not running or playing sports, you can find her working in biotech, traveling or hanging with her goldendoodle, Hudson.

Hi! my name is Seema Clothier. I live in La Jolla, California, and have two amazing girls, 18 and 10. Theresa Hailey

Theresa Hailey

Oregon

The youngest of 8 children (6 boys, 2 girls), Theresa experienced organized sports for the first time her Freshman year of high school. Through running, she instantly discovered a passion that she never dreamed would exist for her. As she continued on through high school and college, running grew with her and shaped her into the person she is today. It gave her structure and confidence, and taught her how to be vulnerable and brave. She often looks back at how life could have and would have been different had she not stuck with running, and how having the proper clothing, shoes, and bras played a crucial role in her staying in the sport.

Over the years Theresa has completed 14 marathons, dropped her time from 3:14 to 2:36, and qualified for the 2020 and 2024 Marathon Olympic Trials. She has dreams of making it to the Olympics, but patience is her strength. As she continues to chip away at her marathon time, she can’t help but be excited for her next big goal: breaking 2:30 in the marathon. Theresa works full time as a Mechanical Engineer and she is sponsored by Oiselle and Littlewing Athletics. Theresa is thrilled to be racing NYC 2024 with the Bras for Girls Team!

Amy DiTommaso

Seattle, WA

Amy DiTommaso is a mom, wife, public school teacher and major supporter of girls in sports. She has run several marathons, however has never made it into the NYC Marathon and is extremely excited to represent Bras for Girls through the 5 boroughs. Through her fundraising she hopes to bring this wonderful organization to more schools and community groups so that as many girls as possible can have the experience of learning how normal their body is and see that so many people really do care about their success and health. Currently in Seattle by way of New York City, Amy has had the pleasure of volunteering for Bras for Girls and each event proves the great need for this amazing organization. Amy has a passion for this organization because as a high school teacher, she has seen first hand the great need there is to have sport bras available to female bodied students as they navigate not only sports but high school in general. Still to this day sports bras are not issued in public schools as a piece of required uniform which leaves many girls forced to find their own.

Bras for Girls is so important in bridging that gap that helps all girls be successful and feel powerful in their own skin. Amy has volunteered with Bras for Girls at 4 different events and each time it is a wonderful experience to witness girls receive such a high quality bra for free, sometimes being their very first one. The excitement on their faces makes each event such a fulfilling experience. One such event was Seattle’s Big Day of Play! It was such a pleasure to serve the community and to engage with so many women, young and old! It is amazing how even some older women had never been fitted for a bra and were able to find a comfortable fitting sports bra for the first time in their life. It was such a powerful moment for younger women and girls to see that you are never too old to ask for support for your body.

It is Amy’s hope that one day Bras for Girls will not need to exist, that one day we will live in a world where female bodies are taken care for and provided for in all aspects of their needs, BUT until that day, Amy is here to ensure that Bras for Girls has as much funding as possible to continue their impactful mission.

Jess Barnard

Seattle, WA

I’m Jess! I am a full time photographer based in Seattle, WA and I am SO PROUD to be running the NYC Marathon (my first marathon!) with Bras For Girls.

As a retired athlete, I had set aside my athletic goals for a few years to focus on healing and renewing my relationship with running. Having a goal like completing the NYC Marathon, coupled with the opportunity to fundraise for an organization that I align with and care for, feels like the perfect refreshment for setting new goals.

Given the current state of the world, the amount of suffering big and small, the consistent overwhelm.... watching the NYC Marathon has always reinstated my belief in humanity, in profound joy, and in gratitude for the simple act of moving our bodies. Okay, conquering 26.2 miles is anything but simple, but you know what I am saying! Seeing humans from every imaginable walk of life cross that finish line never fails to move me to tears. It's NYC Marathon magic.

I'm driven to fundraise for Bras For Girls because the statistics are staggering. Shockingly, 50% of girls drop out of sports by age 18, often due to body-related reasons. I'm committed to playing my part in educating, supporting, and advocating for girls to stay engaged in sports. Let’s do this"

Meris Williams

Meris Williams

Seattle, WA

I didn't get into running until adulthood, after the birth of my first child, and I feel like I missed out on years of benefit. I have gained so much through running - mental health benefits, fitness & strength, and community, just to name a few. In retrospect, my own embarrassment about puberty and my body was a major reason I left sports during adolescence. I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to find joy in sports while feeling comfortable in their body, which is why I'm so passionate about the Bras for Girls mission to provide sports bras and to normalize breast development and puberty. I live in Seattle with my husband and two kids.

Joslyn Fox

Running has shaped the last 13 years of my life, fostered so many wonderful friendships, and added a needed layer of peace and presence to my day. It has held me on my worst days and challenged me to be better on my best days. I first joined the cross country team in middle school and miraculously, I ran through college. After undergrad I moved to New York for grad school and fell out of the running routine. Then, a year and a half later I moved to LA and suddenly, I had to find time for movement or I wouldn’t move at all. Two miles twice a week turned into training for the Long Beach Half Marathon, and suddenly, the bug was back.
When contemplating running a marathon— my first marathon— I knew I wanted to return to New York. My mom thought running for a charity would add more purpose to it, and luckily for me, there was an organization whose mission she was already passionate about: Bras for Girls.

When I hit middle school my mom thought it was time to get my first sports bra. I had a flat chest still, but she bought me a dark pink Nike sports bra so I could learn to wear it and get comfortable in it. That same year, there were girls in my running conference who ran braless or in their everyday bra. I remember my mom picking more up when we were out and about, and she would kindly and quietly leave them for the girls. I didn't understand at the time that my mom was giving them a chance to truly run, unobstructed and free from feeling shame over their bodies.

I’m thrilled to run my first marathon in New York with the intention of making sports more accessible for girls as their bodies develop.
